About us
La pietra antica O’ munti was born from the passion of Alfio, an engineer originally from the small village of Puntalazzo, who returned to his native Sicily to realise his dream of creating jobs in his homeland and to set up a farm at the foot of Mount Etna.
With the help of his family, and particularly his daughter Paola, an architect, he skilfully transforms the old palmento buildings where he played as a child and turns them into a rural tourism business that respects its history, celebrating the traditions, culture and authentic flavours of Sicily and Etna.
Our staff is the beating heart of life at the Agritourism:
Agata, the cook, will win you over with her traditional Sicilian and Etna dishes, made with fresh and often km 0 ingredients. She delights in preparing exquisite Sunday and holiday meals for families and to celebrate anniversaries. To the more curious, she lends her skilful hands, organising, together with Mariolina, cooking courses dedicated to the preparation of fresh pasta and the recognition of local wild herbs, the basis of her tastiest dishes. Attentive to every need, she offers various alternatives for special diets and food intolerances.
Nunzia is the face of La pietra antica O’ munti and the emblem of good Sicilian hospitality: she will always receive you with a smile, taking care of your stay, from breakfast to dinner. The secrets of Etna are no mystery to her: she will share with you, fun facts and the history of the farm, which she looks after and lives like a second home. She will suggest alternative routes for your trips to Etna, providing trekking options and guided excursions on Etna.
Rosario, with dedication and passion, takes care of our vegetable garden and orchard, where you can immerse yourself in nature, discover the freshness of seasonal produce, and get to know the smells and tastes through sensory paths and experiences of the farming world.
Rosario also takes care of our many four-legged and two-legged friends, the Vietnamese dwarf piglet Pinky, the little goat Gelsomina, our inseparable pair of ducks, Pompeo and Carlotta, the donkey Bellina, the rooster Tito and the hens Titine, the cats Micetti….
Marinella will take care of your stay by taking care of the rooms, cleaning and tidying them…

Every corner of the farmhouse, from its indoor to its outdoor spaces, has been restored respecting the original structure, offering an authentic experience on the slopes of Etna.
In the restaurant, created inside the palmento with its original lava stone floors, you can enjoy traditional Sicilian dishes and celebrate celebrations with family or friends.
Nestled in the Etna Park, we are the ideal starting point for excursions to the volcano in summer and skiing in Sicily in winter, as well as for visiting art cities such as Taormina, Catania and Syracuse.

You can visit the agritourism, strolling along the paths in the 6000 square metre green estate of La pietra antica O’ munti and, from the panoramic terraces of the restaurant and the gardens in the complex, as well as from the fabulous terrace of the swimming pool, you can enjoy the landscape that embraces the horizon from the sea of Taormina to the Peloritani Mountains to the Calabrian coast and, again, the coast of Augusta.
La pietra antica O’ munti demonstrates a marked sensitivity to clean energy with the installation of solar panels.
For those who want an original and quiet place to organise a company meeting, showroom, etc., we also have a fully equipped meeting room. For breakfast, buffets, lunch and dinner, the restaurant is available!

Here, amidst the tranquillity of the countryside, you can relax in the comfortable rooms made out of the old wine cellar and the manor house, discover our footpaths, or, in summer, take a dip in the swimming pool and enjoy the sun on the panoramic terrace while admiring both the sea and the green of the hillside, and, in the ancient palmento, organise your banquets and receptions in Sicilian style.
